Performance Report Prepared According to GRI Guidelines, Verification Completed
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 23rd that its 'Shinhan Card ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Performance Report (2019~2020)' has completed the official verification process in compliance with international verification standards for the first time in the industry.
The report was prepared according to the international standard Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines and completed the verification process based on the international verification standard (AA1000AS), securing the independence and reliability of the performance report. The Shinhan Card ESG Performance Report records Shinhan Card's efforts and achievements for sustainable management over the past two years. It includes detailed financial and non-financial performances and activities such as social value, coexistence with local communities, innovative financial achievements, and digital innovation strategies.
Shinhan Card received recognition for its various ESG efforts such as the 'Hero Project' and 'Euljiro Shutter Gallery' for coexistence with local communities, as well as its eco-friendly management based on Shinhan Financial Group's 'Zero Carbon Drive' strategy, winning the '2021 National Industry Award' in the social contribution category for two consecutive years. Furthermore, in line with the full-scale launch of the digital economy, it declared CDR (Corporate Digital Responsibility) management, becoming the first in the domestic financial sector to fulfill corporate digital responsibility.
A Shinhan Card official stated, "With the completion of the international verification process, Shinhan Card's ESG management efforts will be conveyed to customers and investors more transparently and accurately," adding, "Through Shinhan Financial Group's ESG management practices, we will carry out various activities from the three perspectives of 'eco-friendliness,' 'coexistence,' and 'trust' to fulfill the responsibilities of a social enterprise."
