On the 19th, Spanish broadcaster Telecinco announced that it will introduce the story of Ruben Castro (27), who is currently pregnant and about to give birth, through a program this weekend.

Born female but choosing to live as a man, Ruben Castro appeared on the show and introduced himself by saying, "I am currently pregnant." With a beard grown up to his ears, Ruben's appearance made it hard to doubt that he was female. However, he is biologically female.

At 39 weeks pregnant, Ruben explained, "I wanted to have a baby, so I did not remove my biological (pregnancy) ability," adding, "Thanks to that, I was able to have the baby I dreamed of."

Ruben is known to be the first transgender person to become pregnant in Spain.

Ruben said, "Although I hold the title of being the first in Spain, I believe there might be others like me," adding, "There must be people who have not disclosed their pregnancy or childbirth due to the harsh stares." He continued, "As a man who is pregnant, there are many difficulties starting from visiting hospitals. I am going through a lot of hardships," and said, "I want to raise awareness of these issues in society."

Ruben stated, "Despite many difficulties, pregnancy is truly an amazing experience," and added, "I am having really beautiful and unbelievable days," further saying, "To the baby who will be born, I am the father," and "There will be no confusion about my sexual identity due to pregnancy and childbirth."
