GKL Launches 'GKL Ethics Management Practice Group' to Strengthen Compliance and Ethical Management

GKL is holding the 1st Ethical Management Practice Team meeting.

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dong-hyun] Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) announced on the 22nd that it held the launching ceremony of the new ethics management dedicated organization, the ‘GKL Ethics Management Practice Team.’

The GKL Ethics Management Practice Team is an organization created to integrate and focus the roles and functions of each existing ethics and human rights management dedicated organization and related tasks that were working to enhance integrity. It is composed of Jeon Byeong-geuk, Head of the Innovation Management Headquarters, as the team leader, the Ethics Management Team, ethics and human rights related departments, and external experts.

At the meeting held that day, the current ethical issues handled by each department were shared and future directions were discussed. The ‘2021 Ethics Management Promotion Plan,’ based on the operation of the Ethics Management Practice Team with the goal of becoming the top public institution in integrity, was also announced. In addition, education on the purpose of the ‘Public Officials Conflict of Interest Prevention Act,’ which is currently being legislated, was conducted.

At the meeting, Team Leader Jeon urged, “We must make greater efforts to create a GKL that is trusted and loved by the public by learning from the problems that have occurred in some public institutions.”

Previously, GKL has been doing its best for compliance and ethical management, achieving results such as ▲achieving an excellent grade in the public institution integrity evaluation in 2020 ▲achieving the highest grade for two consecutive years in the anti-corruption policy evaluation ▲ranking first for three consecutive years in the comprehensive evaluation of anti-money laundering system implementation in the casino industry.
