Jeongeup-si Opens KakaoTalk Channel to Enhance Communication and Information Delivery

Jeongeup-si Opens KakaoTalk Channel to Enhance Communication and Information Delivery

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 22nd that it has launched a KakaoTalk channel to strengthen communication with citizens and provide fast and convenient information delivery.

The KakaoTalk channel is a service operated on KakaoTalk, the most widely used national messenger in Korea.

Unlike existing SNS such as blogs and Facebook, it is a messenger-type communication channel that directly delivers various useful information to citizens one-on-one.

It has the advantage of quickly spreading various major city administration news, as well as information on festivals, events, and disaster safety to citizens.

In particular, in the prolonged COVID-19 situation where face-to-face contact is difficult, information such as confirmed cases and movement routes is being provided in real time through the KakaoTalk channel.

Also, not only simple text like SMS but also content such as images and videos can be posted, bringing citizens one step closer to better information acquisition and convenience.

Citizens who wish to join the KakaoTalk channel can run KakaoTalk, press the magnifying glass icon, search for ‘Jeongeup City Hall’, and then select Add Channel.

Mayor Yoo Jin-seop said, “We expect that citizens will be able to access Jeongeup news more easily through the operation of the KakaoTalk channel,” and added, “We will make great efforts to promote it so that many citizens can enjoy useful information and administrative services.”
