Gwangju Buk-gu, Promoting Priority Purchase of Social Economy Enterprise Products

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 22nd that it will promote the ‘2021 Public Institution Priority Purchase Disclosure System’ targeting social economy enterprises struggling due to COVID-19.

The Public Institution Priority Purchase Disclosure System was established to create a sustainable growth foundation by prioritizing the purchase of goods or service contracts from social economy enterprises.

Buk-gu achieved a purchase performance of 1.624 billion KRW, which is 181% of last year’s purchase target of 894 million KRW, and this year will conduct priority purchases with a target increased by 115 million KRW to 1.09 billion KRW.

To increase the purchase rate, the necessity of public procurement will be communicated to department purchasing officers, and products and services of social economy enterprises will be actively introduced.

To achieve the target, monthly purchase performance by department will be managed, and priority purchases will be applied even to the private consignment sector to support the expansion of sales channels for social economy enterprises.

District Mayor Moon In said, “We will actively promote the Public Institution Priority Purchase Disclosure System to help social economy enterprises and local small business owners who are experiencing difficulties such as decreased sales due to COVID-19.”
