[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the morning of the 22nd, Noh Kyu-duk, Chief Negotiator for Korean Peninsula Peace, held a phone consultation with Sung Kim, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, to discuss the North Korean nuclear issue and other matters.


Both sides evaluated the close cooperation and coordination between South Korea and the U.S. during the review process of the U.S. North Korea policy and discussed cooperation measures to advance the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of lasting peace.


They also agreed to continue in-depth consultations at all levels to ensure the successful holding of the South Korea-U.S. summit scheduled for late next month.
