"We Don't Only Watch Movie Protagonists" Dongmyung University Holds Regular Seminar on Creative and Character Education Content Development

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Seeing the protagonist in a movie? NO, we will encounter ‘creative convergence’.

A regular seminar to develop liberal arts course content dealing with the themes of ‘creativity’ and ‘character’ through movies and social media will be held at Dongmyung University.

The Creativity and Character Research Institute (Director Yoon Jeong-jin, Professor of Early Childhood Education) at Dongmyung University (President Jeong Hong-seop) will hold a ‘regular seminar for developing liberal arts course content related to creativity and character’ every Thursday from April to June.

This is promoted as part of the 2019 Korea Research Foundation Humanities and Social Sciences Research Institute support project to develop new teaching methods to cultivate creativity and character in university students.

The three subjects covered in the seminar are ▲Creative Convergence through Movies ▲Character and Media ▲Social Media and Creativity & Character.

Visiting Professor Jung Su-jeong (in charge of Character and Media, Social Media and Creativity & Character) said, “We plan to research the diversification of social media platforms related to creativity and character.”

Visiting Professor Lim Hong-nam (in charge of Creative Convergence through Movies) said, “To expand thinking that views and solves problems in new ways, we will select and discuss movies that are directly related to life, immersive, and helpful in fostering creativity.”

The seminar will be conducted in a hybrid format using both online and offline methods to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
