Subway to Raise Prices by 100-400 Won Starting Next Month on 34 Sandwich and Salad Items from the 4th

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Subway announced that it will slightly raise the prices of some menu items starting from the 4th of next month.

The price increase applies to 34 out of a total of 54 sandwich and salad menu items (36 sandwiches and 18 salads), with an average increase rate of 1.67%.

Among the 18 types of 15cm sandwiches, 11 will increase by 100 to 200 KRW, and among the 18 types of 30cm sandwiches, 12 will increase by 100 to 400 KRW. Since salads add 1700 KRW to the price of a 15cm sandwich alone, the range and types of increases are the same as those for the 15cm sandwiches. The additional amount remains at 1700 KRW.

Other menu groups, including 19 types of ‘SmileSub’ where customers can enjoy mini wraps, wedge potatoes, cookies, coffee, and soft drinks at reasonable prices, 2 types of ‘Signature Wraps,’ 4 types of ‘Grilled Wraps,’ 2 types of ‘Paninis,’ and 8 types of ‘Additional Choice’ menus where customers can add ingredients according to their preference, are all excluded from this price increase.

Among the 15cm sandwiches, which are the most popular with domestic customers, the bestseller Egg Mayo maintains its current price. Pulled Pork increases by 100 KRW from 5900 KRW to 6000 KRW, Italian B.M.T. rises from 5200 KRW to 5400 KRW, and both Rotisserie Barbecue Chicken and Roasted Chicken increase by 200 KRW each, from 5900 KRW to 6100 KRW.

A Subway representative said, “Due to the unavoidable rise in raw material costs and labor expenses, we had to adjust prices. Considering the difficult economic situation, we limited the slight price increase to some menu items with particularly high raw material cost increases to minimize the burden on customers, and prices for other popular value-for-money menus such as the 19 types of SmileSub were completely frozen.”
