[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 22nd that it will provide differentiated charging solutions to reduce the charging stress of corporate customers purchasing electric vehicles.
Hyundai operates a specialized service called ‘EV Charge Solution’ that takes full responsibility for the entire process from charger installation to usage, maintenance, and removal for corporate customers purchasing electric vehicles.
The EV Charge Solution is a corporate-specific service for electric vehicle purchases, where Hyundai partners with the electric vehicle charging infrastructure company ‘Estraffic’ to lend chargers free of charge to corporate customers purchasing Hyundai electric vehicles, alleviating the burden of management and charging costs.
Hyundai and Estraffic install fast (100kW) or slow (7kW) chargers free of charge for corporate customers using the EV Charge Solution and lend them free of charge during the contract period.
Chargers can be installed without restrictions based on the number of vehicles purchased, and there is no separate maintenance or management cost burden during the contract period, provided that a certain usage amount is met within the contract period of up to 5 years.
For fast chargers, the condition is to use a total of 450,000 kW within 5 years (an average of 7,500 kW per month, worth approximately 1.65 million KRW), and for slow chargers, a total of 27,000 kW within 5 years (an average of 450 kW per month, worth approximately 72,000 KRW). If the usage amount is not met within the provided contract period, an additional 5-year contract extension is possible without any penalty. (Usage is possible for up to 10 years including the contract period)
However, for corporate taxi companies, considering their high mileage, the condition for fast charger usage is a total of 420,000 kW within the contract period, and they can choose between a 5-year contract (average 7,000 kW per month) or a 7-year contract (average 5,000 kW per month), whichever is more favorable.
A Hyundai Motor Company official stated, “In line with the government’s eco-friendly vehicle expansion policy, we have prepared a differentiated charging solution for corporate customers purchasing our EV vehicles,” adding, “We will continue to strive to provide various services that make the electric vehicle life even more special.”
