[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seokgwan-dong Community Service Center in Seongbuk-gu (Director Daehyun Lee) signed a business agreement on the 20th with Seongbuk-gu Dementia Safety Center (Director Seungho Yoo) to create a village where people with dementia can live safely and happily.

The "Dementia Safety Village" project aims to create a dementia-friendly environment where elderly people with dementia and their families can maintain their dignity while living in their local communities. This agreement was carried out targeting Seokgwan-dong, which has the highest number of elderly living alone in Seongbuk-gu.

The purpose of this business agreement is to mutually cooperate in carrying out dementia awareness improvement and dementia prevention projects for Seokgwan-dong residents, and to intervene with case management for high-risk dementia individuals identified in the community.

Before the agreement, Seokgwan-dong Community Service Center independently operated an online resident communication channel (group KakaoTalk chat room), successfully identifying the relatives of lost dementia patients quickly and returning them to their families, which is expected to effectively contribute to the creation of a dementia safety village.

Daehyun Lee, Director of Seokgwan-dong, said, “Through close cooperation with Seongbuk-gu Dementia Safety Center, we will do our best to create a happy Seokgwan-dong where elderly people with dementia and residents can live together with peace of mind.”
