[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) will conduct on-site vaccinations at the public health center from April 14 to 23 for special education and childcare workers in the area who have close contact with disabled students who find it difficult to wear masks, as well as school health and nursing staff who are at high risk of contact with suspected patients.
Among them, vaccinations are currently being administered through prior reservations for 242 individuals who wish to be vaccinated, and as of April 16, the first dose has been completed for 113 people.
Until the 27th, vaccinations will also be provided to high-risk groups such as residents and users of vulnerable facilities with a high risk of cluster infections and severe progression, through a vaccination support team consisting of a public health center visit vaccination team and doctors from contracted medical institutions.
On-site vaccinations at the public health center are also being conducted simultaneously for workers and ambulatory individuals within these facilities.
Among the vulnerable facilities in the area, five elderly nursing communal living homes, two residential facilities for the disabled, and five homeless shelters are targeted for vaccination.
The five elderly nursing communal living homes will be vaccinated through the vaccination support team, while residential facilities for the disabled and homeless shelters will have both public health center visit vaccinations and on-site vaccinations.
According to a district official, out of 173 individuals wishing to be vaccinated in vulnerable facilities, the first dose has been smoothly completed for 96 people.
Additionally, Seongbuk-gu Public Health Center has been sequentially administering vaccinations since the 19th for workers caring for disabled, elderly, and veterans, airline crew members, hospital and pharmacy workers, and dialysis patients. To this end, contracts have been signed with local medical institutions (Korea University Anam Hospital, Seoul Spine Hospital, Seongbuk Woori Children’s Hospital).
Eligible individuals will receive vaccinations by visiting medical institutions after making prior reservations (online, phone, or in person).
Mayor Lee Seung-ro of Seongbuk-gu stated, “We are making every effort to ensure a systematic and stable vaccination process as vaccinations expand,” and added, “Above all, we ask for the cooperation and interest of all residents regarding vaccination.”
