[Asia Economy Reporter Bae Kyunghwan] Nominee for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Noh Hyung-wook, reported assets totaling approximately 1.29 billion KRW, including those of himself, his spouse, and children.
According to the personnel hearing request submitted by President Moon Jae-in to the National Assembly on the 21st, Nominee Noh owns an apartment in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, under his name (681 million KRW, based on the 2020 official price). Additionally, he reported forest land in Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk, measuring 12,362㎡ (7.637 million KRW), a 2016 Genesis vehicle (27.17 million KRW), deposits totaling 638.346 million KRW, and financial institution debts amounting to 137.36 million KRW, all under his name.
Under his spouse's name, deposits of 55.685 million KRW were reported. Furthermore, the eldest son reported deposits of 3.596 million KRW, and the second son reported deposits of 8.933 million KRW and securities worth 7.78 million KRW.
Meanwhile, opposition parties have pointed out ethical issues, claiming that Nominee Noh neither resides in the Sejong apartment nor disclosed a capital gain of 200 million KRW. The confirmation hearing for Nominee Noh is scheduled for May 4th at 10 a.m.
