[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] KOTRA announced on the 21st that it held the 'IT Consortium Export Support Project Kick-off Meeting' online on the 21st.
At this meeting, eight IT consortium companies selected in the first round this year participated to discuss strategies for securing overseas projects and KOTRA's support measures. The IT Consortium Export Support Project, promoted by KOTRA in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and ICT, selects consortia composed of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises, mid-sized companies, and related organizations to support their acquisition of overseas IT projects.
Recently, the transition to a digital economy has accelerated due to the impact of COVID-19. The global digital transformation market is expected to reach 1 trillion dollars by 2025.
Last year, KOTRA supported six consortia, and this year, it has selected eight consortia as support targets, including e-government, information security, and AI-based distribution platforms. In the future, three additional consortia will be selected, bringing the total number of supported consortia to 11 this year.
Kim Sang-mook, Head of KOTRA's Innovation Growth Headquarters, said, "We will quickly read the trends of the global market and promote projects to create successful cases of our companies securing IT projects."
