[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] LS Cable announced on the 21st that it will provide 100 million KRW to vulnerable groups, including abused children, in Donghae City, Gangwon Province, through the Community Chest of Korea.
The donation ceremony held at Donghae City Hall was attended by Kim Hyungwon, Head of Energy Business Division (Executive Director) at LS Cable, Shim Gyu-eon, Mayor of Donghae, and Lee Sangwook, Director of the Gangwon Southern Child Protection Agency.
Following last year, LS Cable will sponsor the "Support Project for Families of Abused Children with LS Cable" in collaboration with the Gangwon Southern Child Protection Agency. The project aims to promote the emotional stability of abused children and strengthen family functions.
Art therapy and psychological counseling are provided to abused children and their parents to minimize the aftereffects of abuse and prevent recurrence through preventive programs. Support is also given for educational expenses for vulnerable children and vehicle purchase costs for welfare facilities.
Since establishing a submarine cable specialized factory in Donghae City, Gangwon Province in 2009, LS Cable has maintained continuous support activities for vulnerable groups.
