595 Confirmed Cases Nationwide by 6 PM... 176 More Than Yesterday

The spread of COVID-19 continues domestically. According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments on the 20th, from midnight to 6 p.m. nationwide, 595 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were recorded. This is 176 more than the 419 cases recorded during the same time the previous day.

Among the confirmed cases, 415 (69.7%) were from the metropolitan area, and 180 (30.3%) were from non-metropolitan areas. By city and province, there were 202 in Gyeonggi, 199 in Seoul, 33 in Ulsan, 30 in Busan, 25 in Gyeongnam, 20 in Daegu, 14 each in Incheon and Gyeongbuk, 13 in Chungbuk, 12 each in Daejeon and Gangwon, 9 in Gwangju, 6 in Chungnam, 3 in Jeonbuk, 2 in Jeonnam, and 1 in Jeju.

The number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of midnight on the 21st is expected to increase further, reaching the high 600s to around 700 cases.
