Parking Warning Sticker Leads to Swearing, Informal Speech, and Yelling: "Why Did You Put the Sticker On?"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Amid a series of complaints about 'inconsiderate parking' by owners of imported cars in apartment parking lots, a witness account has emerged causing public outrage, reporting that a Bentley owner parked in a compact car-only section at an apartment parking lot in Incheon and verbally abused a security guard who pointed it out.

On the automotive online community BobaeDream bulletin board, a user identified as A, who lives in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, claimed on the 19th, "The kind of arrogant parking I saw on the internet has happened in our apartment too," and stated, "For some time now, a Bentley has been causing inconvenience to many residents due to its inconsiderate parking in the underground parking lot."

He said, "This car is not registered as a visitor vehicle for the apartment complex," and "It was parked in a way that blocked other cars from entering, claiming there were not enough spaces late at night."

He continued, "(Due to parking regulation violations) the security guards put warning stickers on the car, but the owner responded with profanity, shouting, and informal speech, saying things like 'Bring out the person in charge' and 'Why did you put the sticker there?' causing a huge commotion," and added, "Eventually, the security guard removed the sticker personally."

The author wrote, "According to information from neighbors, the owner is said to be a used car dealer in his 30s," and "There is a used car trading complex nearby, so it seems he is using the apartment parking lot as a personal parking lot."

According to current Road Traffic Act regulations, if a vehicle is parked in a no-parking zone, the police or city/county officials can order the vehicle to be moved.

However, since internal apartment roads or parking lots are private property and not considered public roads, administrative measures cannot be enforced.

Meanwhile, two days earlier, a similar controversy arose when a Mercedes-Benz vehicle occupied two parking spaces in an apartment parking lot and posted a warning sign stating, "If you touch my car, be prepared to die. I will claim ten times the damages," sparking a debate over inconsiderate parking.
