[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] The family of the victims appealed for the harshest legal punishment against Kim Taehyun (25), who was arrested on charges of murdering three women in a mother-daughter trio in an apartment in Nowon-gu, Seoul.
On the 19th, a post titled "As the bereaved family of the victims in the Kim Taehyun murder case, we hope that public safety and social justice will be protected through severe punishment of Kim Taehyun" was uploaded on the Blue House National Petition Board.
The petitioner, who identified themselves as the siblings of the mother among the victims, stated, "Every time I hear the phrase 'Nowon three women murder case,' my heart breaks. I hope it will be referred to as the 'Kim Taehyun case' after the perpetrator's name."
The petitioner explained the reason for the petition, saying, "Our bereaved family is living day by day in hell, unable to eat or sleep due to this tragic incident in which a happy and harmonious family was brutally sacrificed. From this heartbreaking state, I am posting this petition with difficulty to ask the public for severe punishment of the perpetrator."

He expressed anger, saying, "My younger sibling (the mother among the victims) lost her husband when her two daughters were young and lived with all her strength for over 20 years. The nieces were finding their aptitudes and living diligently after entering university, but their lives were destroyed by the hands of a demon."
He continued, "Now, it must be confirmed in court how brutally and deliberately Kim Taehyun committed the murders. Appropriate severe punishment must be imposed so that a second crime does not defile this land."
He added, "Thinking about the fear and sorrow my younger sibling and nieces must have felt as they lost their lives without even a single chance to resist in their home makes me feel suffocated. Kim Taehyun must be thoroughly isolated from society until the day he dies. Please ensure he is punished with the maximum sentence allowed by law," he pleaded.
As of 2:30 p.m. on the 20th, the day after the post was made, this petition had received over 4,200 endorsements.
Kim Taehyun is accused of visiting an apartment in Nowon-gu, Seoul, around 5:30 p.m. on the 23rd of last month and murdering the three women in the mother-daughter trio.
