Additional Production of Braille Sensory Books on Natural Heritage for the Visually Impaired

National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage Signs MOU with SK C&C and AIA Life

Additional Production of Braille Sensory Books on Natural Heritage for the Visually Impaired

Last October, the multimedia book on natural heritage, "Reading with Fingertips and Conveying with Sound: Stories of Natural Monument Animals," will be produced additionally. To this end, the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage signed a business agreement with SK C&C and AIA Life Insurance at the AIA Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 20th. AIA Life Insurance is conducting the "Treasure Map" campaign until June 30 to raise funds for additional production. The "Treasure Map" is a donation program available on the "AIA Vitality X T Healthy Habits" app. Donors can contribute 1 won per 100 steps and 5,000 won per photo of paths suitable for visually impaired people to walk. SK C&C supports AI voice conversion technology so that the voice narration in the multimedia book can be realized with the voices of celebrities and other famous individuals. "Reading with Fingertips and Conveying with Sound: Stories of Natural Monument Animals" is a multimedia braille sensory book that introduces seventy species of animals designated as natural monuments, such as the black vulture, crane, and knaksae, using the voices of citizens selected through a public contest, aimed at vulnerable groups including the visually impaired.
