Shinhan Bank Opens Applications for 'Shinhan Family Ten Thousand Won Sharing Donation' Contest Project

Securing Funds Through Joint Labor-Management Employee Donation Program

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 20th that it will accept applications for the 'Shinhan Family Ten Thousand Won Sharing Donation' employee donation program until the 3rd of next month.

The Shinhan Family Ten Thousand Won Sharing Donation is a project that has supported socially marginalized groups with 7.2 billion KRW funded by employees donating 10,000 KRW each month from their salaries through a labor-management agreement between Shinhan Bank and the labor union since 2012. The program conducts two sharing grant projects annually in the first and second halves of the year and supports emergency disaster relief and global corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects.

This first half sharing grant project plans to select social welfare organizations that can provide assistance related to livelihood, independence, education, and medical care to children and adolescents (such as those aging out of care and victims of domestic violence) and women (such as single mothers and single-parent families) who are in urgent need of social attention and support.

Applications can be submitted on the Naver Happy Bean Shinhan Family Ten Thousand Won Sharing Donation campaign page. After submitting a project plan, organizations can receive support of up to 10 million KRW per organization within a total of 300 million KRW through a selection committee review. Additionally, netizens who leave warm comments on the campaign page will be given two donation beans that can be donated to public interest organizations.

A Shinhan Bank official stated, "Shinhan Bank will continue to support projects that can create a happy and healthy future for children," adding, "We will carry out sincere social contribution activities that can have a positive influence on our society."
