[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man who repeatedly struck his junior colleague's head with a dumbbell while intoxicated has been apprehended by the police.
Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station announced on the 20th that they have booked A (29) on charges of special assault and are investigating him without detention.
According to the police, A is accused of hitting his junior B (28) multiple times on the head with a dumbbell at an officetel in Yeongdeungpo-gu around 2 a.m. on the 15th while drinking together.
Immediately after the incident, B fled to a neighbor's house, and the police, who responded to the neighbor's report, searched inside the building and arrested A on the spot. A and B are known to be close senior and junior colleagues who met in society.
The police are investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident with both individuals.
