[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk announced on the 20th that it was finally selected in the '2021 Youth Village Making' contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 16th.
A total of 144 youth organizations from across the country applied for this contest. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety selected 12 final teams, including Yeongdeok-gun, through document screening, on-site, and presentation evaluations.
The youth villages selected this year will receive 500 million KRW in national funding to provide housing, community, and startup spaces for youth seeking value in their local areas, as well as support various educational and experiential activities.
In the case of Yeongdeok-gun, the youth village 'Ttubuk-i Village' to be established in Yeonghae-myeon will provide a base space for people who enjoy walking, linked with Yeongdeok's local resource, the Blue Road trekking course. Related job projects and youth startup and education programs will also be operated. This project will be undertaken by the local youth venture company Made in People Co., Ltd.
Lee Hee-jin, mayor of Yeongdeok-gun, congratulated the selection in the contest, saying, "I hope that the youth, who are the main actors leading the present and future, will find new opportunities and value in the region through this Youth Village Making project."
