[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (HCIA) held a workshop on the 20th for new prosecutors and began prosecutor training.

On the afternoon of the same day, HCIA announced that it would conduct a special investigation lecture by lawyer Kim Young-jong, a former prosecutor of the special investigation division, for HCIA Chief Kim Jin-wook, Deputy Director Yeo Woon-guk, and 13 prosecutors at the HCIA main conference room.

Lawyer Kim started his career as a prosecutor at the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office in 1994, served as head of the Advanced Crime Investigation Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Crime Information Planning Officer, and head of the Anyang branch of the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office, and opened his law practice in 2017. He is also active as an opposition party recommended member of the HCIA Personnel Committee.

In 2003, as a prosecutor at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, he was the person who raised allegations of President Roh Moo-hyun's solicitation during the 'Dialogue with Prosecutors' organized by the late President Roh. President Roh is famously known for his response at the time, saying, "If it comes to this, let's just do it."

An HCIA official stated, "This lecture will greatly help strengthen the investigative and work capabilities of HCIA prosecutors," and added, "The schedule for prosecutor training at the Judicial Research and Training Institute is still under discussion."
