Annual Implementation Plan Data for the Next-Generation Nara Market Construction Project. Provided by the Public Procurement Service
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Public Procurement Service (PPS) is starting the selection process for contractors to participate in the construction of the next-generation Nara Market.
The PPS announced on the 20th that the bidding announcement for the next-generation Nara Market will be held from May 20 to June 1. After the bidding announcement deadline, the process will proceed through proposal evaluation (June 2?4), technical and price negotiations (June 7?11), and the contract is planned to be signed by mid-June, with the project scheduled to be completed by June 2024.
The proposal evaluation will be conducted by forming a proposal evaluation committee, and an online proposal request briefing session will also be held on the 29th via the e-Procurement System.
The next-generation Nara Market construction project aims to completely rebuild the outdated Nara Market system, which was launched in 2002, based on digital new technologies, and to integrate the independent procurement systems of 26 public institutions.
The PPS expects a total budget of 105 billion KRW to be invested in this project. This includes the construction project budget of 91.5 billion KRW and separately ordered software, project management organization (PMO), supervision fees, and others.
Through the next-generation Nara Market construction project, the Nara Market will be fully revamped into an IT-based structure by utilizing the latest intelligent information technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence to digitalize and make all procurement processes contactless, transitioning to a cloud platform and introducing a new authentication system.
Through this, the PPS expects to provide customized services by analyzing user types and work characteristics, enabling convenient purchasing of products at the level of private shopping malls through accurate search and comparison within the integrated shopping mall.
In addition, by flexibly building the system to reflect the purchasing characteristics and autonomy of institutions currently operating their own procurement systems, the plan is to minimize work inconveniences caused by integration.
Lee Hyun-ho, Deputy Administrator of the PPS, said, “The next-generation Nara Market construction project is an important project that completely revamps the Nara Market, which handles most public procurement tasks, for the first time in 20 years since its launch. The PPS, as a government agency overseeing public procurement, will select contractors through transparent and fair procedures and strive to lead the digital transformation of e-government.”
