[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) donated 100 million KRW to Busan Metropolitan City on the 20th to support children and adolescents from migrant families.
This project was prepared by KAMCO to assist children and adolescents belonging to new settlers, foreign workers, and multicultural families residing in Busan. The support program consists of basic learning ability enhancement and counseling to improve family relationships.
Applications for support are accepted through Busan City and the Multicultural Family Support Center until the end of April. A total of 100 recipients will be selected considering their learning plans and economic situations. Among them, 20 will receive learning mentoring, and 80 will participate in the parent-child relationship improvement program.
Mentoring recipients can receive one-on-one guidance in their desired subjects from university student mentors for six months. For the relationship improvement program, participants will engage in psychological counseling and cultural experiences.
Moon Sung-yoo, President of KAMCO, stated, “We hope that children and adolescents from migrant families will grow into responsible future leaders with emotional stability,” and emphasized, “We will continue to practice social values through the expansion of a culture of sharing.”
