KakaoTalk Enables Video Calls with Up to 10 Participants Simultaneously

[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Kakao has launched a beta service for 'Group FaceTalk,' which allows multiple users to make video calls simultaneously on KakaoTalk.

According to Kakao on the 20th, this feature can be used in KakaoTalk group chat rooms, enabling video calls with up to 10 participants at the same time.

To start, press the '+' button on the left side of the input box in the KakaoTalk group chat room, then select Group FaceTalk. In group chat rooms with more than 10 members, users can select friends to join before using the feature.

In addition to full screen, it can also be used in a smaller window. By selecting 'Turn off screen,' users can display their KakaoTalk profile or Kakao Friends characters on the screen.

The FaceTalk beta feature is available on mobile and Mac KakaoTalk. Kakao plans to add this feature to Windows PC KakaoTalk in the future.

A Kakao representative said, "As non-face-to-face daily life continues, there has been ongoing demand for a feature that allows multiple users to communicate via video simultaneously, leading to the introduction of the new Group FaceTalk. We expect it to be highly useful in various situations, from use among acquaintances or family to simple business meetings within teams."
