Wine25 Service is a new service where customers can purchase from GS Shop and pick up their order at a nearby GS25 store on a specified date.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS Shop announced on the 20th that the Wine25 service is gaining great popularity among customers. According to GS Shop, since the launch of the service on March 30, GS Shop customers have been actively purchasing alcoholic beverages online through the Wine25 service, which were previously only purchased offline.
The Wine25 service is a new service where customers can purchase products from GS Shop and pick them up at a nearby GS25 convenience store on a specified date. More than 1,000 types of alcoholic beverages are sold, and since the launch, over 20,000 customers visit the stores daily to view the products. More than 15,000 orders have been placed so far.
Women accounted for 77% of the customers, making up the majority. This is a significant difference from GS Retail’s The Pop, where 62% of the customers ordering alcoholic beverages were men. Additionally, the influx of men in their 20s and 30s as new GS Shop customers is expected to increase, and after the merger of the two companies in July, greater synergy is anticipated due to overlapping customer bases.
During the period, wine accounted for the highest sales amount at 50.1%, followed by liqueurs (32.3%), beer (11.6%), and traditional liquor (5.2%). Based on the number of customers, cost-effective wines such as Santa Helena Carmenere, Santa Helena Chardonnay, and Operatico La Boheme ranked first to third. By region, the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, accounted for 64% of total orders, with Yeongdeungpo-gu, Gangnam-gu, and Seocho-gu having the highest order volumes.
A GS Shop representative said, “The Wine25 service is meaningful in providing existing GS Shop customers with new experiences and products,” adding, “Ahead of the retail merger, we plan to offer customers even newer experiences and more products.”
