In the women's golf world ranking announced on the morning of the 20th (Korean time), she rose 4 spots from 11th place last week to 7th place. She accumulated points by achieving a 7-stroke victory (28-under 260) at the LPGA Tour Lotte Championship (total prize money $2 million) held at Kapolei Golf Club (par 72, 6,397 yards) on Oahu Island, Hawaii, USA, which ended on the 18th. This is her 16th career win, her first in three years since the Mediheal Championship in April 2018.
Lydia Ko became the youngest ever to reach number 1 in 2015 at the age of 18, but after falling into a slump, her ranking dropped to 55th in August last year. This is her first time in the top 10 of the world ranking in 3 years and 2 months since February 2018. Ko Jin-young (26) has held the number 1 spot continuously since July 2019. The Korean rankings are Park In-bee (33) 2nd, Kim Se-young (28) 3rd, Kim Hyo-joo (26) 9th, Park Sung-hyun (28) 14th, Lee Jeong-eun 6 (25) 16th, and Yoo So-yeon (31) 17th, respectively.
