Freelancers Unable to Conduct Activities Such as Lecture Cancellations Due to COVID-19 Among Public Institution Contract Signatories... Visit Relevant Departments or Institutions or Submit via Email by the 30th, 300,000 KRW Paid Per Person
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) will provide emergency disaster relief funds of 300,000 KRW per person to freelance instructors at public facilities in the area to help overcome the damage caused by COVID-19.
This measure was prepared to support the livelihood stability of freelance instructors who are experiencing economic difficulties due to reduced wages as lectures were canceled and lecture facilities were closed because of quarantine measures such as social distancing.
The support targets those who are registered residents of Dongjak-gu as of the announcement date and who contracted with local public institutions between January 1, 2020, and March 31, 2021, but were unable to engage in freelance activities due to lecture cancellations or facility closures caused by COVID-19. Those currently enrolled in employment insurance or those who signed their first contract in 2021 when public institution operations normalized and normal lectures are possible are excluded.
Recipients will be selected and confirmed after document review of eligibility requirements, and emergency disaster relief funds of 300,000 KRW per person will be paid into their personal bank accounts in May. However, even if one person provided lectures to two or more institutions, duplicate payments will not be made.
Applications must be submitted by April 30, either by visiting the relevant department or institution in person or by email, with the required documents including the support fund application form, freelance qualification verification documents, and employment insurance qualification history statement.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Job Policy Division of Dongjak-gu Office.
Yoon So-yeon, head of the Job Policy Division, said, “We hope the emergency disaster relief funds will help freelance instructors,” and added, “We will do our best to prepare various support measures to overcome this difficult time together and to continue stable lecture activities.”
