Delivery of Love Rice Received Instead of Congratulatory Wreaths for Eldest Son's Wedding... Dongdaemun-gu, Designated Donation to Social Welfare Council... Scheduled for Distribution to Families in Crisis

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) announced on the 19th that the Dongdaemun-gu Chamber of Commerce at the Seoul Chamber of Commerce delivered rice of love for neighbors in need.

The rice delivered on this day was donated instead of congratulatory wreaths at the wedding of the eldest son of Kim Young-cheol, president of the Dongdaemun-gu Chamber of Commerce, consisting of 180 bags of 20kg each (worth about 10 million KRW).

Dongdaemun-gu plans to designate and entrust the rice of love donated by President Kim Young-cheol to the Social Welfare Council to be delivered to crisis households such as basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups.

The Dongdaemun-gu Chamber of Commerce has consistently practiced the spirit of sharing, such as donating 10.8 million KRW last December to help grandparent-headed and single-parent families in Dongdaemun-gu.
