Yoon Seok-yeol Maintains Majority Support Against Any Rival ... Lee Jae-myung 27.6%, Lee Nak-yeon 11.9%, Kim Du-kwan 1%

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] In a survey on the suitability of the next president, former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol was found to be ahead of the leading ruling party presidential candidates.

According to a survey conducted by PNR Research on behalf of Money Today on the 18th, targeting 1,010 men and women nationwide aged 18 and older, former Yoon was found to have the highest suitability rating for presidential candidates at 34.0%.

Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung followed with 27.6%. Former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon received 11.9%, independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo 5.1%, People's Party leader Ahn Cheol-soo 4.8%, former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun 3.8%, Director of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation Yoo Si-min 2.9%, and former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min 1.2%.

Kim Doo-kwan, a Democratic Party lawmaker known as the "Little Roh Moo-hyun," received 1.0% of responses. Recently, Kim declared at former President Roh Moo-hyun's tomb, "I will confidently prepare to participate in the presidential primary."

This has led to speculation inside and outside political circles that he may attempt a so-called second "Roh Wind." In the 16th presidential primary, Roh Moo-hyun, who was from Gyeongnam and had only 1% support at the time, created an upset by surpassing Han Hwa-gap from Jeonnam and Chung Dong-young from Jeonbuk to take first place. Currently, Kim serves as the standing advisor of the Roh Moo-hyun Spirit Succession Alliance.

Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong recorded 0.8%. Other individuals accounted for 2.1%, none 2.8%, and don't know/no response 1.9%.

Regarding President Moon Jae-in's performance evaluation, 36.8% of respondents gave a positive assessment. Those who answered "very well" were 18.8%, and "fairly well" 18%. Negative evaluations totaled 60.7%, with 46.5% saying "very poorly" and 14.2% "fairly poorly." Those who answered "don't know" were 2.4%.

During this period, party support was recorded as follows: Democratic Party 32.2%, People Power Party 32%, People's Party 8.0%, Open Democratic Party 5.0%, Justice Party 4.6%. Others were 2.0%, none 13.8%, and don't know 2.3%.

There were many responses that former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol should join the main opposition party, the People Power Party, to run as a presidential candidate.

When asked which statement they agreed with more regarding Yoon Seok-yeol's presidential candidacy, 42.2% responded that "he should join the People Power Party, participate in the party primary, and run for president," which was 18.5 percentage points higher than the 23.7% who said "he should unite new political forces and run for president."

The margin of error for this survey is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. For more details, refer to the PNR Research website or the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission website.
