Support for Job Seekers Most Active Within 2 Years After Graduation... Apply from April 19 to May 31, 500,000 KRW Gwangjin Love Gift Certificate per Person... Military Service Period Deducted for Veterans, Eligible if Within 2 Years After Graduation
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will provide employment incentive grants to unemployed youth who are struggling with job hunting due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic from April 19 to the end of May.
This support fund is designed to assist job seekers within two years after graduation, who are in the most active job-seeking period but fall into the blind spot of government disaster relief funds.
The eligible applicants are youth aged 19 to 34 residing in Gwangjin-gu according to their resident registration, who are unemployed within two years after their final graduation and are not enrolled in employment insurance.
Even if enrolled in employment insurance, those working less than 26 hours per week or short-term workers employed for less than three months are eligible to apply. However, university (graduate school) students, students on leave, recipients of unemployment benefits, and participants in the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s 2020 Youth Job-Seeking Activity Support Fund (2021 National Employment Support System Type 1) are excluded.
In particular, Gwangjin-gu, separately from other Seoul districts, has included as an autonomous district support item that for those who have completed military service and whose period since final graduation exceeds two years due to military service, the military service period will be deducted from the calculation period and included in the support target.
The application period is from April 19 to May 31, and applications can be submitted online through the Seoul Youth Portal website.
Required documents include a resident registration certificate or abstract, employment insurance qualification history, and final graduation certificate (or completion certificate). Short-term workers must submit a labor contract, and those who want to receive military service period deduction must additionally submit a military service certificate.
Selected applicants will be sequentially awarded 500,000 KRW worth of Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates (mobile Zero Pay) per person.
For detailed eligibility requirements and inquiries, contact the Employment Incentive Grant Support Call Center or check the Seoul Youth Portal website.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Since this unemployed youth employment incentive grant is 100% funded by the district, we hope it will support young people’s job-seeking activities and revitalize the local economy and social activities in Gwangjin-gu. Gwangjin-gu will make every effort to promptly implement even small jobs so that residents can maintain their livelihoods and economic activities can continue.”
