Hero of the Gimhae River Flood Incident, Kim Ki-moon, Receives 119 Good Samaritan Award Resident Kim Gi-moon received the 119 Good Samaritan Award.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Kim Gi-moon, who rescued a family from a vehicle submerged in water, was selected as the grand prize winner of the 2021 1st 119 Hero Award presented by the National Fire Agency.


At the award ceremony held on the 19th at the Gyeongnam Fire Agency, Fire Commissioner Shin Yeol-woo presented a citation and the 119 Hero commemorative plaque. Seo Min-seok, Vice President of eBay Korea, attended and presented the prize money.


On March 21, Kim risked his life by jumping into the water during the vehicle flooding accident at Bonggokcheon in Gimhae and saved three family members.


Kim had a level 4 disability due to a crushing accident while working.


However, at the time of the accident, he acted faster than anyone else and saved precious lives.


The province awarded Kim a plaque of appreciation for his good deed and courage, and the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters recommended him as the grand prize winner of the 119 Hero Award to widely promote his bravery and good deeds.


As a result, Kim was selected as the grand prize winner of the 1st 119 Hero Award conducted by the National Fire Agency.


Kim said, "When I had a serious accident before, I was able to live a new life thanks to the help of 119 and those around me," adding, "I am grateful for receiving such a great award for a small act, and I will live with a heart to watch over and serve those around me even more in the future."
