Imsil-gun, Recruiting Talent Donation Group for Returnees to Farming and Rural Areas

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, and the Imsil-gun Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Support Center announced on the 19th that they are recruiting a ‘Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Talent Donation Group’ until the 31st of next month to create opportunities for harmony between returnees and local residents and to foster a healthy return-to-farming and return-to-village culture.

This project supports the integration of returnees and residents by sharing the various talents possessed by returnees with local residents.

The talent donation group will be provided with consumable material costs, transportation expenses, and meal costs required for volunteering.

The recruitment fields include ▲Education (operating after-school study rooms) ▲Welfare (visiting performances and medical care, beauty services at senior centers) ▲Installation of insect screens ▲Repair and cleaning of electronic products, among others.

Applicants must be returnees who have moved their residence to Imsil-gun within the last 10 years and are currently residing there. In the case of groups or organizations, the proportion of returnees must be at least 30%.

Meanwhile, Imsil-gun is promoting various projects to ensure the stable settlement of returnees and to develop the area as an optimal place for return-to-farming and return-to-village.

These include support projects for agricultural startups and house purchases, as well as income projects and production infrastructure support projects.

Returnees receive up to 10 million KRW per household for income-related projects such as economic crops and forest products.

The house purchase, new construction, and repair support project provides up to 5 million KRW per household to stabilize the residence of returnees, and various other project funds are also provided for settlement support, education, and training expenses.

In addition, to support the stable settlement of returnees, village welcome events, village chief meetings, club activities, and mentor consulting are operated in cooperation with the Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Council.

Integration programs with local residents are also operated to support mutual coexistence and harmony between returnees and residents by helping with mentoring from senior returnees and building successful networks with local people.

A family-style practical training farm where returnees can temporarily reside and simultaneously experience farming is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.

County Governor Shim Min said, “Through talent donation, returnees will enhance their pride as local residents, and we plan to continuously prepare various policies to resolve the difficulties of returnees and ensure their stable settlement.”
