Discovering Various Lifelong Learning Programs Aligned with Changing Times
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 19th that it will hold a public contest for 'Lifelong Learning Programs' proposed by citizens to discover various lifelong learning programs in response to changing times and to establish a lifelong learning system within the region.
The city plans to support a total of 50 million KRW for the operation of selected programs, aiming to spread autonomous learning forms where citizens practice learning and grow by themselves, expand education courses specialized in the region, future-oriented, and enhancing civic capabilities, and strengthen the substance of lifelong learning.
The project fields consist of a total of 2 categories and 7 projects: ▲ Learning Network Type - Collaborative Schools (2 projects), ▲ Learning Leader Training Type - Inquisitive Schools (5 projects). Institutions and organizations interested in lifelong education, such as private and public lifelong education institutions, cooperatives, and universities, are eligible to apply.
Centered on the city, networks of two or more institutions and organizations will form consultative bodies to operate specialized projects suited to the characteristics of the region and operating institutions. Two programs of the Learning Network Type and five programs under the themes of Suncheon-style ecological and economic education, regional specialization, and generational and class convergence for Learning Leader Training Type will be selected and supported.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the Suncheon City website or the Suncheon City Culture and Health Center website and submitting it along with the project plan and other required documents via email to the Lifelong Education Division of Suncheon City by the 4th of next month.
After screening, lifelong learning programs will be selected on the 14th of next month and operated from June to November.
