[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) held the ‘4.19 Revolution National Cultural Festival 2021’ Eve Ceremony and Rock (樂) Music Festival on the 18th at the Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center Grand Theater.

The event, conducted non-face-to-face, was live-streamed on social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook).

The Eve Ceremony began with the screening of a promotional video about the 4.19 Revolution. The video was composed to easily introduce the past and present of the 4.19 Revolution through familiar music such as “Morning Dew.”

Near the end of the official event, a scene delivering a ‘Message of Hope’ appeared.

Mayor Park Gyeom-su of Gangbuk-gu and other guests, along with online viewers, simultaneously unfolded handkerchiefs inscribed with the message “Singing Democracy in the New Morning.” Following this, the Rock (樂) Music Festival featured performances by famous singers including Gummy, Insooni, Coyote, Oh My Girl, and VICTON.

In particular, Insooni attracted attention with a song performed together with the Aransol Children’s Choir of the district and accompanied by sign language and vocals.

Mayor Park Gyeom-su of Gangbuk-gu said, “Many citizens participated in the National Cultural Festival held in accordance with the COVID-19 situation,” adding, “We will strive to establish the National Cultural Festival, which reexamines the value of the 4.19 Revolution and widely informs future generations, as a representative national veterans event of the Republic of Korea.”
