[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] The owner of a 120 million won check found in a movie theater in Seoul has come forward.
According to the police on the 19th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul plans to return the check and bankbook after verifying the owner who appeared following the discovery at the movie theater the previous day.
At around 1 a.m. the previous day, a 112 report was received stating that 12 checks worth 10 million won each and a bankbook were found at Lotte Cinema World Tower branch in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The reporter was a security staff member who discovered them while cleaning the theater after the late-night movie screening ended.
The police who arrived at the scene confirmed that the 12 checks were found inserted in the bankbook and registered the items in the lost property program (LOST 112).
The police also informed the reporting staff that, according to the Lost Property Act, they could receive a reward ranging from 5% to 20% of the item's value. Whether the reward negotiation has been made is not yet known.
