[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 19th that the number of housing sales transactions in March was 102,109, an increase of 17.3% compared to the previous month (87,021 transactions).
This is a 6.0% decrease compared to the same month last year, which recorded 108,677 transactions. The number of transactions in the metropolitan area was 49,358, up 4.1% from the previous month but down 24.1% compared to last year.
In the provinces, there were 52,751 transactions, an increase of 33.2% from the previous month and 20.9% compared to the same month last year.
Apartment transactions (69,827) increased by 16.3% from the previous month, while non-apartment housing transactions (32,282) rose by 19.7%.
Additionally, the total number of monthly rental (jeonse and wolse) transactions in March (based on the reporting date) was 219,457. This is a 10.2% increase from the previous month’s 199,157 transactions and a 9.9% increase compared to the same month last year (199,758 transactions).
Metropolitan area transactions (151,730) increased by 16.0% from the previous month and by 10.8% compared to the same month last year. In the provinces (67,727), transactions rose by 8.8% from the previous month and 7.8% compared to one year ago.
Jeonse transactions totaled 125,895, up 9.7% from the previous month, while wolse transactions were 93,562, an increase of 10.8%.
