[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] SPC Group announced on the 19th that it held the 'SPC Happy Fund Agreement Ceremony' at the Purme Foundation in Jongno-gu, Seoul, to support children with disabilities from low-income families.
The 'SPC Happy Fund' is a program that started in 2012, where SPC Group employees voluntarily donate a certain amount of their monthly salary, and the company creates a matching fund to contribute as well.
This year, the SPC Happy Fund donation amounts to 200 million KRW, and over the past 10 years, SPC Group has donated a total of 2 billion KRW, supporting more than 1,200 children with disabilities and their families.
The donated funds are given to the Purme Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps the rehabilitation and independence of people with disabilities, and are used for rehabilitation treatment costs, medical expenses, assistive device support, and special aptitude education expenses for children with disabilities.
Meanwhile, the donation ceremony held ahead of Disability Day was attended by SPC Group President Hwang Jae-bok and Purme Foundation Chairman Kang Ji-won.
