[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] On the 19th, Crown Confectionery showed a surge of over 29% on the KOSPI.
As of 9:57 AM on the 19th, Crown Confectionery's stock price was 23,750 KRW per share, up 29.78% compared to the previous trading day's closing price.
This surge is analyzed to be due to former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol ranking first in the preference survey for the next presidential candidate.
On the same day, Realmeter released a survey result showing former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol leading Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung in the next presidential candidate preference poll. Notably, Yoon Seok-yeol surpassed 50% in all hypothetical one-on-one matchups against ruling party candidates.
However, it is known that Crown Confectionery Chairman Yoon Young-dal and former Prosecutor General Yoon are from different branches of the family.
