[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 61st anniversary of the April 19 Revolution on the 19th, President Moon Jae-in stated, "We must remember the great history of democracy on this land and continue to move forward toward a more mature democracy without stopping."

On the morning of the same day, after paying respects at the National April 19 Democratic Cemetery in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, President Moon conveyed this message through social network service (SNS), saying, "The April 19 Revolution is the firm root of democracy in the Republic of Korea."

In particular, President Moon cited the poem "Pureun Haneul-eul" by poet Kim Su-young to deliver a meaningful message. He dedicated the lines, "Those who have ever soared for freedom know what the nightingale sings about, why freedom is mixed with the scent of blood, and why revolution is lonely," to the protagonists of the April 19 Revolution.

Last year, President Moon also quoted Kim Su-young's poem "Pul" in his commemorative speech.
