[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province will improve and operate the ‘Mom Comfortable Pregnancy’ service starting this month.
According to the province on the 19th, the purpose of the Mom Comfortable Pregnancy service is to help apply for various pregnancy support programs online all at once.
The related service was piloted nationwide in 20 cities, counties, and districts starting June last year. During this period, the service was piloted in Asan and Dangjin in Chungnam.
However, the existing service had limited types of support, and pregnant women were often unaware of the service details, causing inconvenience such as having to visit institutions in person to apply for support.
Accordingly, the province improved these shortcomings by expanding the types of support from 9 to 14 and unifying the application windows to health centers and community service centers, allowing applications for 14 types of support including folic acid and iron supplements, maternal and newborn health care, KTX first-class discount, and services provided by local governments all at once.
Also, starting from the 19th, the Mom Comfortable Pregnancy service will be available in all cities and counties within the province.
In particular, the province explained that pregnant women can receive folic acid and iron supplements via delivery without having to visit health centers in person. However, delivery fees are to be borne by the pregnant women themselves.
The ‘Mom Comfortable Pregnancy’ service can be applied for online through the Government24 website or by visiting the local town, township, or neighborhood community service centers or health centers.
