Market Kurly, Unique Sauces like Rose and Ragu Popular... Sales Volume Increased by 107%

Market Kurly, Unique Sauces like Rose and Ragu Popular... Sales Volume Increased by 107% Bunmoja Tteokbokki made with rose sauce, which showed the highest increase in sales on Market Kurly.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Market Kurly announced on the 19th that unique sauces such as Rose, Ragu, Balsamic, and Sriracha are gaining popularity.

According to Market Kurly, sauce sales from January 1 to April 15 increased by 107% compared to the same period last year. In particular, unique sauces like Rose, Ragu, Balsamic, and Sriracha showed a significant increase in sales.

The sauce with the highest sales growth was Rose, which increased by 389% compared to last year. It has recently become popular as a representative sauce for Tteokbokki and is expanding its use to dishes like Jjimdak and Dakbal. The popularity of Rose sauce seems to be due to more people wanting a milder spicy flavor compared to the strong and pungent taste of Mala sauce, which was popular until last year.

Sales of Ragu sauce increased by 254% compared to last year. Ragu sauce is a traditional Italian product made with meat. The meat is finely chopped and mashed, then quickly fried with vegetables. It uses various meats such as beef, chicken, pork, as well as duck and lamb. Sriracha sauce, which is popular as a low-carb, high-fat diet sauce, also saw a 122% increase in sales.

Market Kurly is holding a special exhibition called ‘All About Sauces’ until the 22nd, introducing dishes and ingredients that can be enjoyed together with unique sauces.
