Contributing to Social Integration by Raising Social Awareness of Multicultural Families
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Hana Financial Sharing Foundation announced on the 19th that it will accept nominations for candidates for the "13th Hana Multicultural Family Awards" until the 14th of next month.
The Hana Multicultural Family Awards is the first nationwide awards ceremony in Korea, launched in 2009 and now in its 13th year. It is officially sponsored by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. During this period of transition into a multicultural society, the awards aim to discover and encourage exemplary marriage immigrant women and organizations that provide practical support to multicultural families, thereby contributing to social integration through raising social awareness. The ceremony is held annually.
The 13th Hana Multicultural Family Awards will accept nominations in three categories: Happy Family Award, Hope Family Award, and Happiness Support Award (individual and organization). Final winners will be selected through an external expert review.
The grand prize winner, who receives the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award, will be awarded a prize of 10 million KRW. Winners of the main awards in the Happy Family and Hope Family categories will each receive 5 million KRW, six excellence award winners (three per category) will each receive 3 million KRW, and winners of the Happiness Support Award will receive prizes ranging from 3 million to 5 million KRW.
Institutions that recommend winners will receive support of up to 1 million KRW for workshop expenses aimed at enhancing staff capabilities, and recommenders from institutions not selected will be given gifticons worth approximately 30,000 KRW.
