After announcing the pilot project candidate sites on March 31, the first resident briefing session among autonomous districts was held on April 9... Rapid progress underway with submission of resident consent forms for the designation of Ssangmun 1 District as a planned area on April 16
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) announced that on the 16th, residents (landowners, etc.) of Ssangmun 1 District (near Duksung Women's University in Ssangmun 1-dong), a first-phase pilot site candidate for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's public-led 3080+ housing supply expansion plan and urban public housing complex project, submitted consent forms for designation as a planned district for the urban public housing complex project to LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation) with 29% agreement.
With this, Ssangmun 1 District secured the consent requirement of over 10% the earliest among the seven candidate sites in Dobong-gu, and is expected to be designated as a planned district in July this year.
Although part of Ssangmun 1 District was designated as a planned area for detached house reconstruction, the project was not promoted and was canceled in 2015, with multiple failed development attempts over a long period.
However, being selected as a first-phase pilot site and the prompt submission of resident consent forms for planned district designation as a follow-up measure have brought residents one step closer to realizing their long-cherished goal of improving the residential environment.
Meanwhile, Dobong-gu held the first residents' briefing session among the four Seoul autonomous districts announced as first-phase pilot sites on March 31, supporting Ssangmun 1 District to submit consent forms for planned district designation, and is actively taking measures to ensure the smooth progress of the government's 'Public-led 3080+ Housing Supply Expansion Policy.'
LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation) plans to establish business plans for the first-phase pilot sites and hold project briefing sessions for each candidate site to help local residents understand, explaining the project plans and schedules and collecting residents' opinions.
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, "The 3080+ housing supply plan is expected to greatly help revitalize the local economy by installing living SOC such as commercial, convenience, and cultural facilities lacking in aging residential areas along with housing supply," and added, "We will actively support the successful promotion of the pilot project."
