'Again, Try Happiness' Program to Support COVID-19 Discharged Patients' Return to Daily Life Starts in May... 30 Jung-gu Residents Who Applied Among Living Treatment Center Discharges Will Receive Kits Within 7 Days After Discharge and Weekly Phone Consultations with Doctors and Nurses
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) is promoting the 'Again, Happy Bom' project to help COVID-19 discharged patients recover a healthy daily life.
As the number of COVID-19 recoveries in Korea recently surpassed 100,000, cases have emerged where patients face difficulties returning to daily life due to physical and emotional aftereffects even after discharge, prompting Jung-gu and Seoul City to join forces.
The 'Again, Happy Bom' project, starting in May, targets 30 Jung-gu residents who have been discharged from residential treatment centers and applied for the program.
For the participants, professional medical staff including doctors, nurses, nutritionists, and exercise therapists will provide weekly phone consultations for four weeks.
The consultation topics include ▲ managing fears of relapse and aftereffects ▲ recovering basic physical strength through diet control and exercise ▲ managing depression and interpersonal relationships.
Additionally, within 7 days after discharge, participants can receive a 'Haebom Kit' at their residence.
The Haebom Kit contains strength exercise bands, horticultural therapy sets, sleep packs, and a '28-day mission card' to help improve lifestyle habits over four weeks.
Applications are possible via the QR code printed on the information pamphlet distributed to residential treatment center occupants, and enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
A Jung-gu office official stated that after a pilot operation targeting 30 people, they plan to expand the number of participants based on a comprehensive evaluation of user satisfaction.
Seoyangho, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, “Since COVID-19 response has so far focused on prevention and treatment, through the Again, Happy Bom project, we will establish a system that integrally supports the entire process from quarantine to treatment of confirmed residents and social reintegration after discharge.”
