Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok Encourages Apple Mango Farmers

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam Province, inspected the apple mango cultivation site and encouraged the farmers.

According to Jeonnam Province on the 18th, Governor Kim visited the apple mango farm "Areum Farm (CEO Kim Seung-mi)" located in Yongsan-myeon, Jangheung-gun the previous day to check the cultivation facilities and distribution status and to encourage the farmers.

CEO Kim Seung-mi said, "Apple mango requires a lot of initial capital and heating costs are burdensome, but since high income is guaranteed, many people wish to cultivate it, so support for this is necessary."

In response, Governor Kim stated, "We will not spare administrative and financial support to strengthen research and development on cultivation technology for subtropical fruit trees in response to climate warming and to expand cultivation complexes."

Apple mango is rich in vitamins A and C and contains beta-carotene, which helps prevent skin aging and supports eye health. Since it is harvested only when fully ripe, it has a higher sugar content than regular mangoes, making it loved by many consumers.

Jeonnam Province cultivates 17 hectares, accounting for 25% of the nationwide apple mango cultivation, producing about 107 tons annually.
