Jeonnam Province Publishes Online Magazine 'Island to Visit This Month'

Jeonnam Province announced on the 18th that starting with the Gwanmaedo edition, it will select the ‘Island of the Month’ each month, and the Jeonnam Island Development Support Center will directly plan, report, and create content to be posted on the website.

‘Siot’ carries the subtitle ‘Erasing the question mark about islands,’ going beyond simply introducing islands as travel destinations to rediscover and present the value of island resources.

To convey the hidden true aspects of travel information about the ‘Islands You Want to Visit,’ the magazine focuses on the daily lives of the islands and the stories of their residents.

Through themes composed of ‘Island, show us your daily life,’ ‘Island, tell us your story,’ and ‘Island, let us know that place,’ it provides the way islands and residents live, honest stories from residents’ perspectives, and travel methods and information.

To commemorate the first issue, an event celebrating the release of ‘Siot’ VOL1. Gwanmaedo edition will be held from the 19th to the 25th.

The event, named ‘Please exert a positive influence with a very small interest in islands,’ will award online gift certificates to 10 participants selected by lottery.

Participants need to capture the web magazine Gwanmaedo edition posted on the ‘Islands You Want to Visit’ homepage and upload it to their Instagram story with a tag to the ‘Islands You Want to Visit’ Instagram account.

Kim Chungnam, Director of the Island and Marine Policy Division of Jeonnam Province (Director of the Island Development Support Center), said, “Through the monthly online magazine, we will contribute to revitalizing Jeonnam’s islands by making the ‘Islands You Want to Visit’ a tourist attraction.”
