[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The Korean National Police University announced the '2022 Academic Year Freshman Admission Guidelines' and disclosed the selection schedule on the 18th.
The total admission quota for the Police University is 50 students, with 44 selected through the general admission and 6 through special admission, integrating both male and female candidates. The special admission is divided into two categories: the 'Rural Student Special Admission' for students from farming and fishing villages, islands, and remote areas, and the 'Hanmaeum Mugunghwa Special Admission' for children from households receiving basic living subsidies, lower-income families, multicultural families, and national veterans, selecting 3 students each.
The selection process involves choosing six times the number of applicants per admission category based on scores in three subjects?Korean, English, and Mathematics?in the first exam. The second exam includes submission of a physical examination report, physical fitness test, aptitude test, and interview. Finally, the final successful candidates are determined by combining the scores from the first and second exams with the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) and school records. The weighting is 20% for the first written exam, 5% for the physical fitness test, 10% for the interview, 50% for the CSAT, and 15% for school records.
Applications for the special admission will be accepted from May 10 to May 20, and applications for the general admission will be accepted from May 21 to May 31. Those who do not meet the special admission eligibility will be guided to apply through the general admission.
The first exam will be held on July 31, with successful candidates announced on August 9. Physical fitness and aptitude tests will be conducted between September 7 and 16 for those who pass the first exam, and interviews will be held between October 4 and 15 for those who pass the physical and fitness tests. The final successful candidates will be announced on December 23, after the CSAT. Detailed admission guidelines can be found on the Korean National Police University website.
