[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Prime Minister nominee Kim Boo-kyum is set to officially begin preparations for the confirmation hearing.

According to the Prime Minister's Office on the 17th, Kim is expected to visit the office set up at the Financial Training Institute in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, on the holiday of the 18th afternoon to meet with the 'confirmation hearing preparation team' and review issues related to the hearing.

On the day of his nomination on the 16th, Kim visited the office and received his first briefing from Koo Yoon-cheol, Director of the Office for Government Policy Coordination. This office visit was an unofficial schedule, and his official first day at work will be on the morning of the 19th.

The confirmation hearing preparation team is composed of five teams: Strategy, Political Affairs, Personal Affairs, Media, and Administrative Support. Director Koo serves as the head of the preparation team, and Choi Chang-won, First Deputy Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office, serves as the deputy head.

Since President Moon Jae-in accepted the resignation of former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, the Prime Minister position will be temporarily filled by Acting Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, for the time being.
