[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] On the 17th, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon shared a netizen's post on his Facebook demanding the installation of low-floor buses for the disabled, saying, "If Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon solves just this, he will be praised."
In a post on his Facebook that day, former professor Jin pointed out to Mayor Oh, "Please get rid of the concrete in your head."
According to the netizen's post shared by former professor Jin, Seoul City aims to install 100% subway elevators by 2022 and introduce 100% low-floor buses by 2025, with the current introduction rate at 58%.
The netizen appealed, "Buses that only non-disabled people ride are no longer ordinary buses but discriminatory buses," urging, "Please keep your promise to introduce low-floor buses."
During the April 7 Seoul mayoral by-election, Mayor Oh and Democratic Party candidate Park Young-sun pledged to introduce low-floor buses early.
